There Are Better Ways To Spend Your Money Than Advertising

It's great to see brands use their marketing budgets do things that give consumers something useful rather than just yell at them. There are other ways to build brands rather than just advertise and this is a lovely example. Perhaps a secondary message bringing it back to the product suck as 'now you can do your Internet banking on the way to work'. Regardless it's nice work.

Really like this example.

My only thought would be when providing a service or being useful like this brands should do it for the long term and mean it.

It can leave a bitter feeling if it is offered one day then disappeared the next (think a massage offering in a train station for one day only).

Brands sometimes go in to the being useful thing a little half hearted - famous example Charmins toilet in Times Square, nice and stunty. But it could be so much more than a stunt if they ensured that across all major American tourists attractions they provided nice clean toilets.

I love the idea of being useful for advertising but sometimes think it becomes too stunt focused and then really isn't that useful at all.

Hello-

I find your blog to be a very interesting and enjoyable read.
I will be graduating with a BS in Fashion and Retail Management in September.
I am extremely interested in furthering my education in the areas of Consumer Psychology, Consumer Behavior/Insights and Research.
Do you have any advice for someone in my position, as far as, entry level job positions that would prepare me for a career in this area?
I am eager to get out in the working world and start paying off some of my current student loans before I venture any further, as far as education goes.

Any information you are willing to send my way will help!

Thank you for your time,

Kelsey

@Pete that's a great build. I agree with you, and hadn't really considered that before.

@misskelseyemily Why don't you take the time to find my email in contacts and write me, a personalised email instead of spamming people.
